We currently don’t have room in the barracks and they moved us into on post housing. I’m planning on getting married and was wondering how it will effect the already existing bah and my roommate. Any info on this will help. Has anyone else seen this before? How will getting married impact my BAH and my roommate, since we are both living in on-post housing due to lack of room in the barracks?2021-09-09T00:14:16-04:00SPC Private RallyPoint Member7255004<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am currently housing on post with a roommate from unit. I assume from the information you have given that you are already in on post Married Enlisted Housing. I would call and talk to Housing, but most likely one of you will be moved to different quarters, or if no additional housing on post is available, given non-available and then you are on the economy.Response by CPT Lawrence Cable made Sep 9 at 2021 5:54 AM2021-09-09T05:54:51-04:002021-09-09T05:54:51-04:00SSG Brian G.7255635<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You are already drawing BAH. With you getting married that will get bumped to BAH/w dependent. As for how it will affect your roomie? lol Pretty sure your wife is not going to want a 3rd person there with you and her. Either you and your wife will find a new place or the roomie will. I suspect it will be you and your wife.Response by SSG Brian G. made Sep 9 at 2021 9:20 AM2021-09-09T09:20:31-04:002021-09-09T09:20:31-04:00SPC Private RallyPoint Member7257465<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I’m confused. Existing BAH? You’re getting BAH already even though you live in government quarters? That doesn’t make sense. <br /><br />Once married you get BAH w/dependent rate based on where you’re stationed. You will move off post or move to on post family housing. <br /><br />Your roommate will stay in the barracks unless he also gets married or gets an approved ETP. Each post has different policies regarding housing, so reach out to your housing office for specific installation guidance.Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 9 at 2021 9:46 PM2021-09-09T21:46:13-04:002021-09-09T21:46:13-04:00SSG Roger Ayscue7257884<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Follow the advice of <a class="dark-link bold-link" role="profile-hover" data-qtip-container="body" data-id="198196" data-source-page-controller="question_response_contents" href="/profiles/198196-68s-preventive-medicine-specialist-807th-mdsc-hhc-807th-mdsc">MSG Private RallyPoint Member</a> less than 10 words that contain all the answers to your question.Response by SSG Roger Ayscue made Sep 10 at 2021 2:47 AM2021-09-10T02:47:17-04:002021-09-10T02:47:17-04:002021-09-09T00:14:16-04:00
