SFC Derrick Hardison 93016 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div> How were you treated by your unit during the Med Board process up until your exit from the Army? 2014-04-03T19:34:22-04:00 SFC Derrick Hardison 93016 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div> How were you treated by your unit during the Med Board process up until your exit from the Army? 2014-04-03T19:34:22-04:00 2014-04-03T19:34:22-04:00 SFC Derrick Hardison 93023 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I know I was basically treated like a wet food stamp by my unit. After all the years of service I gave to my country, I was basically treated like a private that was booted out during basic training. There was no farewell, no good bye get together, no plaque, no nothing. Kind of screwed up way to treat an S4 NCOIC thst left the service with a legitimate medical condition. Thats just my opinion though Response by SFC Derrick Hardison made Apr 3 at 2014 7:43 PM 2014-04-03T19:43:24-04:00 2014-04-03T19:43:24-04:00 SGT Private RallyPoint Member 103219 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Just as a body to fill a tasking at III Corps security detail, headquarters wanted an E-6 but I was "available" since I was just holding down a supply desk job in the rear detachment.  I still had my profile and medical appointments to goto, so my company put me on the roster to keep me busy doing something.  I guess it wasn't that bad but my med board took six months while pregnant females returning from leave got out in a matter of weeks.  Go figure. Most are honorable people who were legitimately injured during training. You do run across those few who lied on MEPS, came broken, and went right from basic training to the medical board for a full retirement. That is frustrating to see considering for the rest of us it takes 20 years to get any lasting benefits. The rest of us have to settle for the small one time check, a goodbye and a firm handshake Response by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 19 at 2015 4:11 PM 2015-04-19T16:11:00-04:00 2015-04-19T16:11:00-04:00 SSG Steve Young 614033 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Same here SFC Derrick there was little help after my unit found out how much I was going through I was like at as blue headed stepson. My CSM would meet me with how is it going Young you still on the crazy pills. I waited 3 to 4 years for a med board and every time lost paper work are I miss my date are missing LOD's even when I had my doctors do the LOD's and all they needed was the commander to sign them she refused to do so. once I got to the point of forgetting things and was in to much pain to more at times even attacking the CSM I know it was time for me to go. so I didn't board I took the early retirement and ended up losing a lot of my benefits so it really been a bad time for me i still think the best thing that ever happen in my life was the Army.
