There will be counseling, etc. Bottom line, if the LOSING UNIT (wherever you are currently) signs off (all the way up the chain), time will pass and transfer orders will be cut.

See USAR PAM 600-5, Figure B-59, but AR 140-10 Governs.
Good outline here:
https://ezinearticles.com/?How-to-Put-an-Army-IRR-Packet-Together&id=8779241
But, as always, it is Army Regs, not something you found on the internets that govern.

Notes:
1. You will need a "cogent reason"/justification
2. It is a request, it **CAN** be denied.

You'll get a lot of questions from your chain, it'll probably get sent to JAG once or twice, it'll eventually reach a general officer and you'll get a yay or nay. I'd recommend attaching a memo in addition to the DA form explaining your request.Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 22 at 2022 7:02 PM2022-04-22T19:02:58-04:002022-04-22T19:02:58-04:00LTC John Mohor7638708

No matter what you do awaiting approval continue to attend Drills/ Battle Assemblies because you still incur SGLI monthly insurance billing.
