How can I find out the full unit from a UIC? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-to-find-a-unit-from-a-uic

Good morning, I am working on getting some awards processed for some out of state personnel and the group that helped us had multiple units in that group. I have their UIC but for the memorandum I need their full unit how can I look this up? I tried using FMSWeb that another post said to use but the LOOKUP tool was removed a few months ago if that is what I needed to use. I am trying to reach out to them now if all else fails but it would be good info to have later as well. Thank you for your time. If FMSWeb isn't showing results, perhaps your S3 has a way to search.

Another route, is to email the personnel you are submitting for awards and ask them their unit names. This platform often contains detailed information about units, including their full names and locations.

Human Resources Command (HRC): The U.S. Army Human Resources Command website may have resources or contact information for personnel who can assist with identifying unit names from UICs. You might need to reach out to them directly for assistance.

National Personnel Records Center (NPRC): If you are dealing with historical records or need official documentation, the NPRC can be a resource for verifying military records, including unit information. They can provide the full unit name associated with the UIC.

Military Awards and Decorations Websites: Some websites related to military awards and decorations might have databases or resources that can help identify units by their UICs, especially if they are involved in award processing. There isn't a search function for both in one place. If you are not finding them in one then they are probably the other. It's how I research vacancies to see what I'm getting myself into.

Also, try looking in the vacancy data, they most certainly have a vacancy somewhere. Then you can see the UIC there too. CPT Private RallyPoint Member Thu, 22 Aug 2024 11:56:46 -0400 2024-08-22T11:56:46-04:00 2024-08-16T11:15:42-04:00
