How to access Netflix in the ROK?

Hello everyone, I'm a week or two into my 1 year tour in South Korea and it just came to my attention that Netflix isn't available here. I've done a little research snd it seems the most popular way is to purchase a VPN. I would like to avoid adding another charge to my card, and figured I'd ask if any seniors know a way around to get it for free or anything. Mind you ill be using Netflix on my iPhone and Xbox One.

If you have a friend in the states that doesn't mind setting up their router to be a VPN (and sharing their data), I have known a few folks that have done that way. It is actually really easy to do with a cheap older router and some custom firmware.

There are free add-ons that will do this for you, Hola is one of them. I believe Netflix actually has something in its terms of service saying you are not allowed to use VPN services anymore though, take that as you will.

Couldn't you use a proxy to do this. You would have to use a computer as I don't think an Xbox could do this. I did this when I was deployed to get Pandora to play on my computer.

What base are you on in Korea? You may be able to get a cheap personal Computer b\from someone getting rid of an old one. If you are at Camp Humphries check out the Camp Humphries Buy and Sell Facebook page and I forget the other one I looked at while I was there.

Just download the app cyberghost and it will give you a new ip address from any country
