How should one look to improve upon a church's drug rehabilitation program?

This is a school project which has gained some real-world application. I enjoy school projects that promotes positive change outside the classroom.

Any suggestions are welcome. Please break down any church-jargon down barney style so I can understand.

"Celebrate Recovery" is a Christ centered church based nondenominational program that has had great success.

If your church isn't able to start one there is probably one already in or near your community.
I believe the program originated out of Saddleback Church (Pastor Rick Warren)
Several churches use these and others like it. My church used this for a while with great success and now have decided to move beyond it so they are free to incorporate some things they felt were missing from the program that were specific to our Church and would fold in better with some existing programs. With that in mind some Church leaders actively involved in recovery and some teaching staff visited other churches who had started their own program or who also had tried to take it a few steps further. They networked with these people and evaluated what worked and what didn't and what might be beneficial to us and available to use and then built on that for our own program. It's still a work in progress but is set to be launched soon.

It always starts with one. Somewhere in your Church is a member who is in recovery or knows someone who is. Invite them to participate. Find out what works. Throw out what doesn't.
There are several programs available with abundant resources to use, just spend some time researching/googling/exploring/networking.
The only wrong thing to do is nothing.

Boy now that's a tough problem!!-I certainly want to commend you for taking this on! I'm sure you are an asset to whatever Unit you are assigned to if you are still serving!

I think Doc Hit it on the head when he said look for a outreach program which are generally faith based anyways !!!!
