<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Start by updating your ASK.<br />In your email, state what you want first - the intent of the email - and then a short description why. Your story is irrelevant and he has to read hundreds of emails a day, don't make him dig through your email to figure out what you want.<br />As one counselor used to tell me, "An email to HRC should be like a woman's skirt - short enough to keep your attention, but long enough to cover everything".

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Are you in training still? Or have you already been stationed ? If your in tradoc than your assignment manager will not deal with a trainee regardless if you have graduated or not ..if you have already graduated and are currently stationed somewhere than I am pretty sure you will have to go through your chain of command first if you want separation from your unit

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Umm... You're a PVT... You shouldn't be sending an email to anyone... Sorry, but the branch manager has far more important people to deal with than a PVT... Unless you are coming off of a deployment, which you more than likely are not seeing as how you are a PVT, you have no pull to get an assignment given to you b y branch... If you are coming out of basic/OSUT/AIT then you were given an opportunity to put in your wishlist and that is about all the agency that you have in this matter.

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You are most likely not going to get anything from branch especially if you're straight out of school. What's your MOS? Are you coming out of AIT? <br /><br />I just emailed my branch manager in Feb with what I wanted and guess what she told me? "Here are your three options:" and listed them. (Granted I have been in a joint unit for 3 1/2 years). <br /><br />The only way you might get stationed there is for a compassionate reassignment and that has a LOT of criteria that goes with it.
