How obtainable is green to gold as a Specialist because I've heard a few cases of it happening?

It’s definitely obtainable. Read the information booklet and it will tell you everything you need to know.

As long as you have the stats it is very obtainable, they want younger soldiers in leadership positions these days.

What undergrad major would you want...what branch if Army, what MOS would you want? Have you done any coursework thus far? Associates? Would you want warrant at all? Amy flight interest for Army WOCS gor rotary wing? Have you looked st other svcs as well? Would you want t try for any of the academy prep schools? Do you want a STEM field? Clinical field? There are also VMI, the Citadel, the maritime colleges, and direct commission Army cyber, as well as direct commission in other svcs, esp USCG, plus, Navy just reopened WO1 for cyber, and, I'd seen Army has a warrant program for Army CID, if you'd want law enforcement at all...if you could elaborate on goals, ambitions, objectives, hobbies, interests, reading, and do a detailed biosketch, I and others cwm suggest more...the more you send in, the greater the likelihood of something worthwhile being suggested...I realize your desire to stwu Army, however, when I'd gone USSF OTS after Army ROTC, switching after it, a god many there at Lacklamd were prior enlisted from other svcs, one guy even had Navy enlisted dolphins, so I know IIT can be dome, USAF has also something I'd seen on here called the Deserving Airman Commissioning Program, trees also ISMC Platoon Leaders Course (PLC), and USPHS has something called Jr and Sr COSTEP, not just for clinical fields, also engineering as well as IT for health info mgmt, I !erely thought you might care to know wnoit such options, try to be broadminded, and submit to other svcs, it'd increase our likelihood of getting picked IP for a program, you could also o for ROTC in other svcs as well, as well as try for academies directly, one airmen where I was got into USAFA without prep school, so I know it can be done, I'd be most eager to hear !ore, no rush, I just have an interest in such topics....

I went Green-to-Gold as a specialist way back in 2000. Rank does not matter much as long as other parts of record are competitive (i.e. GPA, APFT score, SAT/ACT score, command recommendation, etc.)

It's absolutely obtainable as a Specialist. Commissioning programs prefer that you are younger due to age caps and time in service caps.

It's possible. Just make sure that you meet the prerequisites and have some more of meat in your records so it sets apart from everybody else. Don't deselect yourself and go for it!
