In 2008 we got 2 months notice before the MOB training started. In 2012 we got a year (this is the way it is supposed to work).

In 2002 i was told about a deployment on Friday afternoon. Sunday i was in Cuba. That was the worst one.

My unit was mobilized December 2009. We started getting preliminary orders for movement around September 2008.

It'll vary from planned or cyclic deployments to maintaining two seabags on a C-Whatever pallet and next day go. I got to enjoy both methods and some in between. Nature of the beast. I will say the instant gos were to some interesting places.

I had a fellow platoon leader that was given about 48 hours notice to a mobilization and deployment. We had a LT pull himself out of training by poor choices and poorer actions and he had to be replaced immediately.

Situation/Mission dictates.

It all depends on what kind of unit and mobilization you fall under. My first Civil Affairs deployment came 3 weeks after arriving on station ( not 3 weeks after inprocessing and getting settled ). In fact, I left before fully inprocessing the Battalion. They needed a Spanish speaker and I had a 3/3. They gave me a basic rundown, a few Video Conferences and a 1610
