Depends on the celebrity and topic. The Mythbusters, Neil Degrasse Tyson, Bill Nye, etc... all are celebrities, but if they are discussing a topic that I know falls within their bailiwick, I'm going to value their thoughts and statements because I know that they have decades of study, research and experimentation behind those words...

Honestly celebrities are just normal human beings with more time in the media than us. Their opinions are similar to most of us, however not all. I wouldn't change my own personal opinion on a topic just because a celebrity thinks that way. However with the right information to back up their arguments I may venture that way but it would be a very rare case with a lot of research done.

Actors say what they are paid to say. They are ACTORS. One can never trust an actor. There are many RICH progressives paying these people to echo their sentiments.

I have to side with overpaid court jesters but I will say this.
They're people and they have a right to an opinion, but just because they made a good movie, or can play any particular sport doesn't mean their opinion is better or more informed then say Jack the electrician.

I don't care about their opinion either way. They just have more media access than the average person.
