How many Veterans would be interested in having their stories published in a book?

Sure, but being Preventive Medicine, my stories wouldn't be all that interesting. Some are a bit on the funny side for verbal story telling, but not really worthy for print.

I might be interested in having part of my 34 years in the military covered in a book MAJ Scott Meehan. Certain parts could never be included for security reasons and many others might bore people to tears.

Oh I got stories. I showed up in 2004 in Iraq just as the war was winding down. Being a full time police officer in the civilian world, I got tasked with training the Iraqi Police because the State Dept did not have enough civilian police instructors . I hitch hiked all over Iraq to get from place to place.

I only spent 3 years in the army - but the stories I could tell. Then again, I think I will! I started writing last spring and I think it's time to take up the pen again and continue! Thanks for the post.

My story is in a book and it was a best seller...UNFORTUNATELY only in the German language...I have the English translation ready for an audio book, just have not gotten around to it...

I think I would do that. I have some stories related to the close of the Cold War (UN-Korea, INF Treaty, and NATO stuff) that might be interesting.

I highly encourage veterans and family members to "get your story out there." Big publishing companies are only wanting to hear famous Generals or Navy Seals right now. The military is made up of far more than those two categories. For example, we only received a glimpse of what the family goes through in the film, "American Sniper," but it was very impactful.
