This part of the country appreciates us. All the schools have Veteran appreciation ceremonies and I have two grandsons that want me to be there. My little podunk has Saturday free lunch for Vets and AD.

Grand Daughters school is having a breakfast and program for Vets. They do a nice job and the VFW and Legion give the kids prizes for patriotic art work, poems and essays. Anytime there's SOS and coffee I'm in. The kids do the Pledge of Allegiance and last year they had a little girl sing the National Anthem that could bring tears to your eyes.

COL Mikel J. Burroughs This Saturday, the 5th, at Fort Vancouver, Vancouver, WA, I will attend a Veteran's Day Parade. On Veteran's Day, I will probably attend a ceremony at the Vancouver Armed Forces Reserve Center, and eat a free meal compliments of Olive Garden.

This year I may participate in nearby Veterans Day activities; but, I am still waiting on my orthotics from the VA which should get here by the end of the month COL Mikel J. Burroughs.
In any event I plan on taking my wife out eat a couple times and joining various veteran friend couples for meals and conversation.

I will be at my son's grade school talking to the students about what I did were I was last year there were 10 veterans there the kids sing patriot songs and make us thank you cards then we all have lunch together here in little ole Antigo WI

I will be attending my Nieces school program. She has asked me for the last 4 yrs if I could make it (still on AD at that time), so finally this year I will be there. She wants me in my ASU's luckily they still fit!! My question is can I wear my Retired Lapel pin on my ASU's? 670-1 isn't very helpful(unless I'm missing it somewhere)

Every year my wife and I attend a Veterans Day ceremony at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI. The cemetery is home to one of one of two national shrines in Michigan. The ceremony starts at 11 a.m. The cemetery is located at 4200 Belford Road in Holly. Here is a press release for those in the area that may want to attend.

Ferris State University in Big Rapids MI holds a Veterans Breakfast each year. They also do a Veterans Concert. I will be attending Both as well as numerous other events with the VFW and the AMVETS (I am an officer in both).

My Army retiree spouse and I will go to our daughter's weekly school Mass with her. Afterwards, we will spend about an hour walking around our local National Cemetery and quietly saying a prayer for peace. Finally, we will enjoy lunch at either Olive Garden or Applebee's.

My brother, also a vet, and I always go out to eat together. Then just hang out, depending on weather, target practice, riding motorcycles, going to Veterans day activities.

I wish I could but with the crowed being so big it becomes overwhelming.I shops to. It food at the store at 03:00 just to avoid the people and I still shop like I'm going to Olympics.Im in and out within 10 min max.

Col- this year we are donating our proceeds from a race over Memorial Day weekend to a local Freedom Park. We do this each year normally on Flag Day or the 4th. I was out on mission both times and this year will do this on Veteran's Day.

The wife and I will be at the VA center in Norman Oklahoma donating time to the veterans there putting on arts and crafts classes increasing the quality of life for those that are unable to leave the facility to attend functions outside the facility.
