How many points do you receive for each up vote?

I thought I had done something very wrong when I noticed that I was credited for 40 points for an up vote. I initially thought down votes must have cancelled out my up vote or something like that.
SFC Mark Merino let me know via the RallyPoint support page hyperlink that RallyPoint members receive 50 points for the first 999 up votes, 40 point's for up votes 1000 through 1999, and 30 points for up votes 2000 and higher. Like the rest of you I did not have any idea how many up votes I had I am just thankful when I receive up votes and good responses and comments.

For a week or so I have received 40 points for up votes. I am not sure if this is an honor or some sort of dubious honor :-)

I was in the same boat as you... Couldn't figure out why I was getting 40. So I did some perusing through the RP support site and found the point schedule for RP up votes. I was relieved, lol.

50 for me. Many times I see them displayed as "150" and I calculate this is for three (3) upvotes on a given post I have written. Gotta' remember, I am still a "newbie" and learning mainly what NOT to do... :-) I really like this app and some of my tech forums are screaming for attention. Well, RP is a lot more fun!

so this is a competition type page. I guess they think folks won't participate if there wasn't any point system. I would, I find some posts and postees rather humorous. And I 've learned a few things from the other armed forces.
