The biggest coping mechanism for me is building a supportive team around me.

I seeked out a psychologist at the VA she is dependable and always over books her schedule to make time for me at the last minute. She connected me with biofeedback therapy which really works.
I also have a cpap machine. Sleeping is very very important. I could never stay sleep because of many things. Mainly I had to come up with a plan that my psychologist holds me accountable I see her once a week.

I have been retired for a little over a year and a half. Brother, I don't care how my own view of myself as being weak not being able to suck it up like hundreds of thousands of active duty, reserves, guard, and veterans do every day. I am seeking help. We have so much help to assist us it is almost suprising they are not more advertised.

I also strive to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. I went to Iraq year on and year off from april 2003 to october 2011 closing kirkuk operation new dawn for a total of 50 months a little below average.

God is real to me, no person can convience me otherwise. I deal with survivors guilt a lot and connecting with my God helps me cope.

This is what helps me. In my opinion, we each need to taylor our recovery and coping methods with a balance of common sense a loss of self destruction, and getting involved in activities that keeps us from being able to easily isolate ourselves.

I have come to the realization I cannot walk this life alone. So I am not.Response by SSG Dwight Amey MSA, MSL, BS, AS made Aug 28 at 2015 1:24 AM2015-08-28T01:24:59-04:002015-08-28T01:24:59-04:00PVT Donovan Graham6354835

Bipolar II, cyclothymia, Adjustment Disorder...ive set some medical records at behavioral health.
