How many of the "Dumb" comments by President Trump are more than what they seem? Is there a pattern of making dumb statements as a setup?

I have had the good fortune to hear many fine speakers over the seven decades of my life. Sadly, they are a diminishing breed. Also, few of them, with the notable exception of Ronald Reagan, became President. President Trump has made his share of malaprops. Sadly, they are popular fare with a spotlight shone on every one of them. To be fair, he surprised me with his inaugural address. It appeared that he did not use a teleprompter or speaking notes and yet delivered a flawless performance. Can the same be said of our beloved Barack Obama?

I am glad I am not the only one that asks this. I firmly believe that everything he says and tweets is calculated to have a specific result. Even when it seems like he is flying off of the handle, I think it is done very intentionally. One does not be a successful businessman by flying off the handle in an erratic way. The question then becomes, what is the desired result he is going for? Unfortunately, that is not self evident.

What specific 'Dumb' comment(s)? It was the edited and spun lies of the last election cycle that forced me to slow down and listen to President Trump's entire speeches that showed me how corrupt and biased the Establishment media really is, and they did not even slow down to catch their collective breaths after losing the election...and yes, they did lose the election as much as Hillary Clinton did.
So what is dumb? Thinking that the President of the United States should place the interests of the people of the United States first? That we should take care of and support our soldiers and fulfill our obligations to our veterans and retirees? That it is wrong to bring refugees chanting death to America to our country without some pretty strong vetting?
I get the Establishment hates him, he threatens their power. Two years ago he was brilliant, knowing his place feeding them, now he is stupid. Same man but they changed their filters and how they need you to see things the way they are telling to see them...or they lse even more of their power.

If u take the political out of it, 44 spoke with thought while this one has limited vocabulary and uses run on sentences and uses adverbs incorrect on almost every speech

I personally believe that much of what goes out on twitter and other media as off hand comments are actually calculated comments designed to draw a response by President Trump, to use an analogy is, playing poker and already has a pat hand, yet he keeps checking rather than betting and draws them in. Only after the cards are finally all on the table at the end do the targeted individuals realize they've been had, sadly some of them never seem to get it. I don't love President Trump or hate him, but I do respect what he has been able to accomplish. He wants you to underestimate him, it makes it easy for him.
