Plus, they are also relevant to know whether or not he/she has any open conflicts of interest that might influence how they govern. <br /><br />Using them to determine tax rates and wealth are essentially irrelevant, but do have political utility. Here's my issue. First, I know I'm not alone in this, but doing my own taxes is hard enough. Why the hell would I want to scrutinize the taxes of someone who has vastly more wealth than I. Next and this is what I think the real issue is... Trump is independently wealthy so it's less likely that he's in someone's pocket unlike a career politician who seem to get wealthier and wealthier the longer they are in office.<br /><br />But like I said... most Americans can barely handle their own taxes.
