The last time I reenlisted, I had technically been out of the Navy for 3 days. Does that count? :)

4.5 years total. I ETS'd as an enlisted soldier, moved back home to attend college, and then came back in upon graduation/commissioning.

11 years, got back in this year after 11 years in the civilian sector.

I was out of the Navy for almost 12 years. When Sept 11 happened I drove my police cruiser to the National Guard Armory and reenlisted. My wife was pissed when I told her what I did. I never regretted that decision.

17 Years. They let me back in at the age of 52. Had to go through the entire MEPPS process, enlisted with new Soldiers that could've been my kids or grandkids. Left the service in 1998 and re-entered almost three years ago. Left as a DS and came back in as one, right back on the trail four months after enlisting

My break in service was 17 years. I went from AD Army to the Air National Guard. In my old guard unit we had a SMSgt (E-8) also with 17 years and another guy with 15 years. I wonder what the record is?

I got the IRAD around 2004, and came back on AD sometime around 2006-2007...just enough time for it to feel "weird" that first couple of weeks.
