When I got off orders it took them nearly a year to get me my DD214, and when I got it, it was missing a bunch of things, including things for VA benefits. I am working with my new unit to get it corrected, but I was curious, how long does it usually take to be corrected? How many levels does it have to go through? How long does it take to correct a DD214? I had a DD-215 issued to correct my DD-214 once. It took a month. I got my DD-214 in about a week. I think you need to get some more assistance if it is taking a year.Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made Jun 28 at 2022 6:51 PM2022-06-28T18:51:03-04:002022-06-28T18:51:03-04:00MAJ Private RallyPoint Member7749530

I have requested 1 DD214 for a Soldier (so far), took about a month for HRC to process. Overall, I was surprised with the turn around and accuracy. I did the PAG checklist T-27-A-6 with supporting documentation (previous DD214, orders, etc) and emailed to the directed mailbox.Response by MAJ Private RallyPoint Member made Jun 28 at 2022 6:53 PM2022-06-28T18:53:25-04:002022-06-28T18:53:25-04:00SGM Private RallyPoint Member7749750

Depending on your state, and how many people went on orders, it could take a while.

For everything other than mobilization, most state's Guard have just 1-2 people that can process DD-214s, as a side task to their G1 or AGR Branch primary duties, as they would normally only need 5-10 DD-214s a month between AGRs and long term GDOS.
With all of the COVID/FEMA long term orders, and anyone on any FEMA orders for any length of time at all now requiring a 214, those folks in every state have become overwhelmed. Hundreds to thousands in each state.

The correct process is, anything in iPERMS that was not on a previous 214 goes on this 214. If it's not in iPERMS, it's not on the 214.
If you are not doing this face to face, the 214 clerk should email you a 214 working copy for you to review/request corrections, before they sign and submit the final.

And no, you do not have to be in the same compo to request a 215 correction.Response by SGM Private RallyPoint Member made Jun 28 at 2022 9:17 PM2022-06-28T21:17:12-04:002022-06-28T21:17:12-04:00MAJ Ronnie Reams7750645

If you are coming out of the Guard, you should have gotten NGB-22. If you have a DD-214, it has been my experience that 214 is not corrected, but, rather, a DD-215 issued.Response by MAJ Ronnie Reams made Jun 29 at 2022 9:46 AM2022-06-29T09:46:46-04:002022-06-29T09:46:46-04:002022-06-28T17:38:35-04:00
