The AOC 91A is an Ammunition and Maintenance Officer, which I’ve heard they’re actually just doing a logistics AOC now, kinda like they’ve been doing at Captains Career Course for all logisticians. A couple things you need to do; number 1, I saw that you’re NG, so you need to check your state and see if there is an EOD company in your state, also don’t have one, you could always switch to Reserves, but you may end up in Washington state or back at Fort Lee or some where else other than where you’re currently living. Number 2, if you find an EOD company and they have slot open, or a unit with that specific paragraph and line number, you need to either go into BOLC as a preselect, you may need to talk to your commissioning source about that. You could also try to get selected at BOLC, but that doesn’t happen often. I had just a handful of preselects in my class, and one guy got selected toward the end of BOLC. They’ll ask if anyone wants to try for it, but the AD guys get preference, because it’s a follow on school, so your state will end up paying for it, and a lot of states don’t always like to pay for those. As an logie, if you don’t selected for EOD, you’ll end up an FSC or a BSB, more than likely, as a PL for a maintenance platoon, a maintenance control officer, or something else. Think about if that’s what you want to do. You could also think about going QM, and look into be a Rigger, but I don’t know much about that, except you get to go Airborne School if you get into that one. 1LT Ryan Millican Sat, 02 Feb 2019 20:44:35 -0500 2019-02-02T20:44:35-05:00 Response by LTC Jason Mackay made Feb 3 at 2019 1:15 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-long-is-the-pipeline-for-89e?n=4338868&urlhash=4338868

2LT(P) Private RallyPoint Member https://www.goarmy.com/careers-and-jobs/browse-career-and-job-categories/intelligence-and-combat-support/explosive-ordnance-disposal-officer.html

"Job training for an explosive ordnance disposal officer requires completion of the Ordnance Officer Basic Course, where you’ll learn leadership skills, tactics, maintenance and operational aspects of weapons and vehicles used in an ordnance platoon. Then, you have the EOD PL course right after and you could be in a holdover status until there are enough people to hold the class.

Best advice I can give is that unless you have something that's a hard deadline, don't worry about the timeline. And if you do have something that's going to keep you worried, now is not the time to go. 1LT Christopher Gonzales Mon, 04 Feb 2019 09:17:40 -0500 2019-02-04T09:17:40-05:00 2019-02-02T20:19:55-05:00
