I uploaded a scanned copy of our marriage certificate and everything was taken care of in a matter of days.<br /><br />It seems like the VA is geared more to dealing with things like this through electronic communication than by using paper copies of things like birth certificates, marriage certificates, etc. When you send in paper copies, they too often end up in a heap that seems like it's three miles high.<br /><br />If you're not already on ebenefits, you can create a logon and open your account in a couple of different ways, each designed to provide easiest access depending on whether you're active duty or a vet. I was amazed at all the different things I could accomplish on that site, and they didn't pay me to say that. Although it isn't perfect it's been very useful to me. You might give it a try.
