The transition is far more involved than most people expect. The hiring process at some jobs (federal & many state governments particularly) can be six months to a year. There's housing; possibility of transfer to your home of record; maybe spouse's employment and kids issues with school if you are moving. The list goes on so start early!Response by CMC Robert Young made Nov 6 at 2013 10:37 AM2013-11-06T10:37:08-05:002013-11-06T10:37:08-05:00CPT Private RallyPoint Member3933<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>a year.Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made Nov 6 at 2013 12:42 PM2013-11-06T12:42:12-05:002013-11-06T12:42:12-05:00LTC Toby P.5498<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>At least a year or longer. I think also it depends on the time you have been in service also. Joe that has been in for 2yrs and has a year left might be ok with a little bit shorter of time than the CW3, MAJ, or a SFC with 15yrs or so.
