I knew multiple people stationed in Korea who applied and found out they got accepted to OCS while being there. The only thing that might affect you dropping a packet right now would be if you have actual orders to Korea and aren’t actually there yet. The MILPER states you can’t drop a packet if you are on orders so I’m assuming you’d have to report to Korea before you begin the application process. I put in an OCS packet after being in Europe for three months and that was just because they had to put together a board for me. If you are accepted, it will override your DEROS; it's one of the few things that can instantly override a DEROS. I talked to my Commander, and Brigade commander about what I wanted to do and they signed off on it after two months.
