When vacant positions cannot be filled due to personnel shortfalls they use the Recommended/Eligible List to fill vacant positions. Positions are usually filled with a Soldier that is one grade below the required position grade.<br />I applied 2 years in a row and did not receive an offer/position. I was put on a month TDY while I completed Recruiting School and went straight onto Active Duty after.
