How is it that we have money for Syrian Refugees, but not Vets??

In recent reports, 10,000 Syrian Refugees arrived in LA 5 days ago. The cost of the average family of 4 came to $257,480 (http://100percentfedup.com/breaking-first-10000-syrian-refugees-arrive-in-la-estimated-cost-to-taxpayers-for-family-of-four-is-257480/#).
Let's ignore the Potential Terrorist issue for now. Let's ignore that the Boston Bombers came to America under the same exact pretense, and how they collected over $100,000 in welfare benefits, and their mom was driving a Mercedes while on Welfare.
Let's just look at the initial issue on the table. Where is the money coming from to pay for just Shipping these people here? This campaign to bring over Syrians has cost American tax payers $1,600,000,000 (1.6 Billion). and Hillary Clinton says she wants to raise that to 65,000 people.....If we assume the cost will be similar. The UPFRONT cost to the tax payer will be $10,400,000,000 (10.4 Billion)....Now, I know that to career politicians, no amount of money sounds ridiculous because they are talking about spending everyone else's money. But at what point do we tell them to stop spending our money? Politicians spend money like Hookers on vacation, no one can deny that. Billions of dollars every year go out the door. We've given $16,000,000,000 to Palestine and it was found that almost all of it went to Terrorist Organizations. We've given $5,000,000,000 to ISIS for that Traitor Bergdhal. $2,000,000,000 to Morsi to oppress his people in Egypt, and over $500,000,000 to Al-Qaeda and the Taliban in Syria....I mean "Syrian Rebels". AND WE'RE 18 TRILLION IN DEBT.
....The second issue to address is, $1.6 Billion is just the upfront cost. Let's look at back-end costs. Of the total estimated 50 Million Islamic Immigrants that have moved into Europe, an estimated 80% are on government assistance (http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/5856/welfare-jihad). So if we are to assume that the figures will be the same, or similar, then we are bringing people to this country so they can be on welfare. They will be our permanent temperamental 16 years old children that complain their allowance isn't enough, and how we all need to respect their rights as independent individuals.....That's what we have to look forward to.
...Meanwhile the VA just complained they are $2.6 Billion short. 1 in 50,000 veterans are homeless. We have Millions on Welfare ALREADY, and many on the brink.....I'm not going to stipulate why certain groups push for more poverty stricken immigration, but it seems to me that a certain group is looking to shore up some extra guaranteed votes. Because they are the people always talking about how people should get free stuff.

Cpl Robert Masi This is what I have been saying all along. I have no problem with the US taking in refugees. I simply think that we need to start with the America Refugees living on the streets, the people who work hard for menial wages and cannot afford to put food on the table. Once we solve our own problem, then we can take in refugees from foreign lands. We are telling our neighbor we will help fix their house, while our house is run down. Makes no sense.

Everyone should read what is going to be done for these refugees. Further, look over who, and how many relatives, can be brought over similar to the anchor babies. The total of 200,000 will rather quickly turn into 800,000 new citizens and who will they support politically? Unemployment rate LA is 6.2%.

The Obama administration doesn't place veterans as a priority. It is not a solid supported platform for the democratic party. The federal government does even support murdered, tortured, and raped Christian refugees. If Hillary Clinton becomes president, it is going to be the same program but a few steps back in quality of leadership or no leadership at all.

A short, if not unintentionally flippant response, posed as a question- why do people give charitable contributions when they have things left undone at home, or deferred repairs, or it results in greater debt?

To some degree it is in our nature, it is policy, it furthers our reputation abroad and it allows us to focus on a perceived positive vice the potentially negative aspects of daily reality.

The federal budget allocates monies to many different programs, in some cases that money is not transferable as it is only authorized to be spent by a specific department, on a certain program, etc... This is reality, spending priorities are set by the Prwsident's budget and the funds Cingress allocates to that budget.

Big government has ramped up their efforts - but the homeless epidemic (veterans and non-veterans) is going to take time to correct. Could they be doing more - one could argue "sure"...but to deny the fact that there are programs in place currently, that are targeting homeless vets specifically, is a bit asinine.

Poor and homeless veterans have been around since the Civil War. Name one President that really gave a shit about Veterans. What about all the ones who have been homeless since the Vietnam war? Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush Obama. Not one has really given a damn because they know this country has a safety net to assist them. This country is part of the International community. That is why we are accepting refugees. No amount of money is going to cure the homeless Vets problem. Some veterans do not want help. I have seen many turn down help. Some have told me they hate how the Military treated them and want nothing from the VA. Many are mental and should be committed, but who will sign off? Like many homeless, some just want to be left alone!

Interesting. I didn't know that members could block opposing comments by other members. CPT Servicemember apparently does not want to hear an explanation of my Down vote. He appears to believe that I object to his position regarding the GOP response to the relocation of Syrian refugees. Here is the reason for my down vote -
"So ALL(my emphasis) of my big strong military brothers and sisters in Arms here on RP - terrified of a bunch of children and elderly women, and rape victims? Shame on you for irrational fear."
Way too broad a brush, CPT. Not for a moment do I believe that every member of Rally Point fears the thought of Syrian "children and elderly women, and rape victims" arriving on our shores. I do believe, just as any person with experience in the Middle East should, that it is prudent to subject those seeking refugee status from that area be more closely scrutinized than others. I do not believe that every last person here fears these folks for no rational cause. Witness those members who demonstrate their approval of your position by their Up votes.
