We have the option to telework with my civilian job. I don't want to go out to restaurants, and hate going out in general now. Kids may not even go back to school in person, looks like it will be online at least to start. It canceled my ALC, but on a positive not I was able to pick up my E6 because of it. I have also had to adjust my work out routines as I used to use the gym and now I do more running outside instead of on a treadmill, and indoor track.Response by SFC Steven Borders made Jul 31 at 2020 10:26 AM2020-07-31T10:26:42-04:002020-07-31T10:26:42-04:00Lt Col Jim Coe6162048

Retired members are banned from nearby AFB except for Tuesday and Thursday. Somewhat of an inconvenience. Doing all of our shopping now at Walmart and local grocery chain (Schnucks).
I do all of the shopping for our family because my wife is high risk (heart and lung disease).
Up until a few weeks ago we couldn't go to a restaurant locally because of State rules. Do occasionally buy takeout or fast food, but with less frequency that pre-COVID.
We attend church on-line instead of in person because of the risk and restrictions on number of people allowed in the church at one time.
We belong the a Grange (social and service organization) and were not able to meet in person until recently when Gov Prickster allowed gatherings of 50 people or less.
Dogs don't seem to care.
I'm betting our county--totally Democrat run--will find a way not to open schools (secondary and community college) after Labor Day. Expect classes to start on-line. Not so good for disadvantaged kids that don't have internet or computers. Also, no free meal programs or after-school child care programs.Response by Lt Col Jim Coe made Jul 31 at 2020 4:53 PM2020-07-31T16:53:29-04:002020-07-31T16:53:29-04:00SCPO Private RallyPoint Member6162193

As a senior with underlying medical issues at high risk for COVID hospitalization and/or death, the life that I knew has pretty much ceased to exist. The general public just does not understand the level of trepidation and mental anguish that seniors and persons of all ages with underlying at risk health conditions are enduring during this national emergency. Please think about how it is for us before you don't give a crap about acting correctly or wearing masks at the proper times to do so. Oh... And if there needs to be a veteran "tie in" to this, many of these persons are veterans, but that really shouldn't matter anyway. It's affected mainly our home life. We go thru a lot of hand sanitizer and Clorox wipes. We both undress in the garage after our shifts. Our used work clothes never enter the house, go straight into the wash (in the garage). Then we head straight to the shower after. We're both in high risk category, i'm glad the wife is a Germophobe. :).
Recreationally being in a rural area we can still hike and bike, fortunately. We're more apt to see various wildlife than other humans. We limit our public outings to necessary shopping & errands and occasional food take out, masked up of course.
I don't see this ending any time soon.Response by PO1 Brian Austin made Aug 1 at 2020 1:47 PM2020-08-01T13:47:04-04:002020-08-01T13:47:04-04:00MAJ Ken Landgren6164810

Nobody likes me so I am not impacted.Response by MAJ Ken Landgren made Aug 1 at 2020 1:54 PM2020-08-01T13:54:25-04:002020-08-01T13:54:25-04:002020-07-31T07:04:55-04:00
