How hard is it to go AF after an unsuccessful Army BCT attempt?

Recently went through Army BCT but got injured & EPTS discharged. I can try again in 6mo with a waiver but it was suggested that I seriously considered Air Force instead. I hear they don't like to take Army "rejects" so how hard is it really to go AF after an unsuccessful Army BCT attempt?

SrA Heather Davis Use the search bar above to search on "Army to Air Force" and you will find other posts asking the same question. When you are no longer injured, I would talk to an Air Force recruiter.

The first question that is going to go up is has the injury healed and have the Doctors gave you the green light for physical activities. Second it all depends on the ASVAB scores and jobs that are available. I jsut left MTI duty and the Running injuries are what causes the most issues at AF basic training. Hopefully this helps and I would recommend going to talk to an AF recruiter to get all the information you are seeking.

Damn near impossible to go AF after Army. The possibility is there, but very small.

Its not hard at all. As long as your ASVAB is good.

AIR FORCE MANUAL 36-2032
2.6.2. Non-Prior Service. This program applies to applicants for enlistment who have 179
days or less of active duty or active duty for training with any branch of the United States
Armed Forces or who have not previously completed BMT.

And no as someone commented, I don't know where this Joe Rumor started. I was 11 years Army line unit 12B 19D and 31B. Switched to AFRC 2011. I lost a rank E6 to E5 because I went to a medical unit and their rank promotion is extremely different than the Army, lot more tests (CDCs) VS physical and field leadership.

In my same unit we have an 0311 Marine, 12B OIF vet, and a few 68W old combat medics. Talk to a recruiter. They tend to like 50 and above ASVAB which is probably where the rumor starts with the Army. I scored a 72 in 2001 and wished I looked more into a longer career than just the War, I would've went Air Force right away.
