Talk to your higher ips. There's alot of competition but you may get lucky. There's supply slots and the like always open. Look into USAjobs.go and other related sites to see what guard/ reserve components have open.
Good luck SSG Private RallyPoint Member Mon, 07 Dec 2015 20:51:51 -0500 2015-12-07T20:51:51-05:00 Response by SGT Curtis Earl made Dec 7 at 2015 8:52 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-hard-is-it-to-get-a-job-straight-out-of-25b-ait?n=1158276&urlhash=1158276

Not impossible. The two things that have helped me along the way are industry certifications (CompTia has good baseline certs) and networking with people. An excellent recommendation from a colleague will speak volumes. CompTIA A+ will do (use your own money and don't wait for the military to pay for it) after you do that take a look at a few places like craigslist, and apply to any/every IT Support position out there. The requirements may look crazy but do it anyways because employers build out a wish list which not everybody can fulfil

And last but not least, build a resume that showcases what you are capable of in quantifiable bullets.

Be a sponge in AIT take notes and use that school to build a baseline knowledge so when you do cert up its as simple as ready the book and testing. I did my 5 months there a few years ago and combined that with my time in service and am now a civilian contractor to the marine corps. 60k/yr . but along with that you will need any IT related certification. Comptia being the standard, but if you are in for a few years you can look at CISSP or CCNA depending on what career path you want to follow in the IT community. I was doing mostly networking at my unit but never was certified. I recently got my CASP certification so that along with my army experience got me the position. I know many units will pay for your certification while you are in, act on it, because the VA will screw you out of time and money because they wont want to pay you anything. stay away from A+ because its 2 separate tests at about 300$ a piece for a single certification. do either network + or security+. both fairly easy to learn. even if you don't have a ton of experience on paper, the fact that you have a certification shows potential employers that you've put in the time and effort to prove that the position you are applying for is what you want to do.
