Now mind you I have several crushed vertebrae and two destroyed hips as well as a detached ham string all balled up on my leg, so moving fast if at all is a big issue for me.I wound up just feet from this beauty in the V of a tree it was munching next to and began shooting pics, had I spooked it and it got aggressive, I had no way to run.We were closer than 5 feet for some of these shots. I dropped to my hands and knees and backed up to a more solid footing. Looking around, I discovered that I was momentarily alone on the summit - no one would have heard me scream if I had slipped.
