How else can I get enrolled into SSD 2 if my unit is dragging their feet???

I was never automatically enrolled once I picked up my 5 in Aug. I asked my last unit before I left and I am now practically begging my new unit to place me in the class. I have yet to receive my orders/offer letter for my AGR position and I would like to complete the class before I start my tour. I have talked called the NCO who is responsible for this and have spoken to her NCOIC and have gotten nothing. I know that the requirements have changed no as far as having SSD 2 and ALC completed before promoting and I surely don't want anything to hold me back for it. Is there someone else that I can contact to enroll me into the class? My PS told me that there is but that's as far as that went. Is it like this for everyone???

Usually you are auto enrolled after you complete the NCOES school. This case it would be BLC. I would possibly contact HRC. Not sure that the unit has a whole lot of pull on this.

I have the understanding that we are automatically enrolled by order of merit for time in grade time in service. I could be wrong though

It took me almost a year to be enrolled in SSD2. My training NCO had to send a memo to my Brigade so they could enroll me. Good luck.

I contacted my branch manager repeatedly because my unit requested it a few times because I missed out on being promoted twice because of not having all my ALC points even though I had attended ALC in 2013 and now I'm still E5 cause points never went down again

I'm tryna get enrolled in SSD3 and go to ALC but you must stay on top of it! If need be , contact the branch and see what they say!

Your unit has so many slots per year, they are the ones who have to enroll you. Get your CSM involved.

Your BN UA can submit you to be enrolled. Be aware there is a waiting list so you may be enrolled but it may take a month or so before you can actually launch it. You will find it in ALMS

There are multiple ways around it. You can go to bn and call your schools nco, your training nco, so on. SSD 2 is a requirement before you go to school. Keep on there feet, and if you have to use the open door policy. Slots per year, that doesn't make any sense. Stay persistent and get what your striving for sgt. Don't listen to all the bs. You got this, keep pushing forward.

When do expect to come on the AGR program? I hate to say it but it may be easier/quicker to come on tour and have HRC input you into the course, especially considering the funding/demand for AGR SGTs vs the rest of the reserve. I was enrolled 2 weeks after pinning on.

Have you spoken to your 1SG or CSM? They should be able to give you an answer as to why. Where do you stand on you unit's OML for your MOS?

Training NCO or Operations NCO... Who ever is your ATRRS operator. If the automatic enrollment does not work, "manual" request thru proper channel to brigade or higher where the Quota Manager for your unit can manually enrolle you. I've done it for some Soldiers... Usually you'll have to wait for a week or two after you graduate BLC for automatic enrollement to do its work.

SGT how do NCO's get things done? Relentlessly Persue getting enrolled into the class. Find out who the training NCO is, call the soldier up every day until it is accomplished and contact the 1sg. I would rather break a few eggs to get things done than to wait and be failed by somebody who won't even make it a priority.
