How effective is the military care for those in the discharge process?

How effective is the care shown by the military to service personnel discharging through retirement or ETS? Do they truly help those transitioning out or is it little more than lip service? What has been your experience? How can the military do a better job of assisting the SM through the transition process into civilian life?

So far (not too far in) it's been very focused on big boy rules. You're going to get out what you put in.

From what I understand the VA is now included in the discharge process, this is something that has been long overdue.

They tricked me into signing my SBP to my evil ex even though she did not fill out any paperwork. I was in a rough state at the time.

Those with PTSD should have their wives at retirement briefs and stations where important documents will be signed.

I believed they cared. You will find out that Finance and the Orders clerk works really hard. The velocity of the information is fast. I got screwed with my SBP for my ex. I really suggest the spouse to attend if you are absent minded. You will get to work on a civilian resume as well.
