It was in 1976, but it can be done. Biggest problem going from service to service is what happens to your rank. You may have to lose a grade or two when you change services. Check with an Air Force recruiter. They will tell you what to expect. You may also have to wait a while to get in. Air Force always seems to have a backup getting in because so many people want to join. Good Luck in whatever you decide to do!Response by TSgt Larry Johnson made Oct 13 at 2017 1:08 PM2017-10-13T13:08:37-04:002017-10-13T13:08:37-04:00SPC Private RallyPoint Member2997098<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Going from Marines to Army you'll probably keep your rank, but it seems that going from Army & Marines to the Air Force or Navy there's a good chance you'll lose a grade. I've seen a few Marines switch to Army, and a few Sailors as well. Idk what walls you'll encounter going Air Force but I hear it can be done so if you want it go for it.Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 13 at 2017 7:58 PM2017-10-13T19:58:31-04:002017-10-13T19:58:31-04:00PO3 J.W.
