During the week you may be the man and on the weekend drills you become subordinate to A officer.
If you become a officer in the guard then you are the man for both jobs
Until then remember what hat you are wearing and you will be good Response by SFC Kenneth Hunnell made Feb 20 at 2016 6:00 AM 2016-02-20T06:00:16-05:00 2016-02-20T06:00:16-05:00 MSG Private RallyPoint Member 1317618

Yes if u can't find a position somewhere else you will lose your job. Now maybe they can have u report to someone else. In my 13 years experience as a tech you lose your job. If you outrank your civilian boss on the military side, a rank inversion situation exists. Normally, there will be a command policy on this.
In my command, the civilian boss reverts to a letter of input with the next level supervisor rating both to eliminate perceptions of favorable treatment (or retaliation). I was a SSG but one of the miltechs in an underlying unit was actually an LTC when I was in.
