How does duel military realignment or assignment work if you are married to somebody from a different branch?

My experience has been that the services try to work together to find a satisfactory solution. Maybe both in DC area or perhaps Ft Irwin and 29 Palms are some examples I’ve seen.

They attempt to accommodate but there is no quarantee

They have different assignment cycles than we do. But, what generally happens is the branches try to find a location that you two can be close

Honestly...in almost every instance I know of, one or the other separates, usually the one who is lower ranking or has less time in. It is a huge amount of stress and difficulty. Many times what ends up happening is that just as things come together, one or the other gets a remote or overseas involuntary assignment and everything is messed up. Did you consider any of this before you got married?
