Pretty simple. If you could pick how people remembered you by, what would it be?

I would probably pick loyalty and my service to others.

I spent the afternoon on Sunday chasing the kids around the yard.
Playing Frisbee.
Kicking a soccer ball around.
Playing some strange soccer/dodgeball hybrid of their own invention. I didn't understand what was going on, but I guess that isn't the point.

At one point, my 9-year old daughter ran up to me, gave me a big hug, and told me that it was the best day ever.

I couldn't think of a better epitaph if I had forever to think about it.

I've been thinking about this for a while, now. I can honestly say I don't know. Long ago, I resigned myself to a life of general obscurity. I don't really expect to accomplish anything of note. Being dead, I certainly won't care what happens after that.

My wife and I suspect we won't be able to have children, and frankly not sure I should have any; not much of a legacy to leave, and there definitely won't be any money to support anyone after I'm dead at this rate. It's hard for me to think of anything I'd want to be remembered for. I'm okay with being forgotten. I can't think of any good I've done deserving of being remembered, and being forgotten is better than being remembered for something negative.

If we dove completely into fantasy-land, I'd like to be remembered for living a life in service of others. Even losing my life in the military would've been nice to that end.

There just may be something wrong with my head. Oh well.
