How do you purchase 18k or 24k gold at the PX?

Are there any extra taxes and fees when buying gold in Kuwait? I've been told by my NCOs and friends that when buying gold on base you're charged by the weight and price of gold but when I went to check it out and did the math the guy was trying to charge me 200 dollars more than the gold price claiming taxes and fees

Stay away from those local owned kiosks operating in the PX. They overprice everything. Practically a scam. If you really want to waste your money like that, you can send that cash to me.

you have to realize you aren't just paying for the gold, you are paying for the artistry. If you just want gold then you will get it at the world trade prices like everywhere else. Gold isn't cheaper in Kuwait, just more available.
