How do you plan on surviving the 2016 elections?

Ideology has replaced old fashioned politics, the vitriol is boiling over, and the primaries are just getting started. Will We the People survive until November?

I have already put several hours of time into rallying and trying to talk people into voting for the candidate I want to win.

Always study the candidates and vote for the canadidate I like the best. Just don't complain if you don't vote.

As a member of the Guard, I can and do run for office. I'm a member of a party and have been endorsed each time, but my primary loyalty ends up being to veterans and service members. It makes it very difficult to embrace the binary spectrum definitions of politics as "left" vs. "right."

I wish the system didn't focus so heavily on broad ideological differences and focused on a tight examination of specific plans and policy goals. That's how I run (probably why I lose).

I always study the candidates, occasionally donate, and most often choose a favorite of each party. This cycle I am supporting Hillary Clinton for the Democratic party and was supporting Lindsay Graham for the GOP. Since Graham dropped out, I'm studying more on John Katich, Chris Christie and Jeb Bush and will probably select one of them by the end of this month.

We jettisoned the television three years ago. It's made it very challenging to follow sports. However, it's provided a wonderful break from political issues. I am reading (non-illustrated stuff) much more and taking up anything in print. Sure, I am still subject to slant. However, the candidates' profiles are much clearer in print --vice "high def."

I studiously avoid watching or listening to the news. I still get exposed to far more information and lunacy than I would like, so it's not like I'm completely ignorant -- but it's not for lack of trying.
