Those dehydrated packets of camp food are so much better than MRE. Usually though when with my role II team, providers would bring a coffee maker since we would also have generator power for patient care. More often than not, I dipped it like skoal; Or threw it in a canteen cup and drank it cold. All my time in the field, I am quite positive I didn't have time to heat my MRE more than a dozen times. Some of this was because our Company GySgt was a goldurned genius. If he thought there was going be time to heat an MRE, he made sure there was hot chow in vat cans, at least hot wets. If they can make one that has USB power I’ll buy that in a heartbeat to use with a power pack.
