If I want the horses in the barn, I put some grain in a bucket and stand at the door and shake it. If I want the pigs back in the pen, I grab some leftovers and put them in the slop pan. For me a leader is a person who is able to bring different minds together for a common goal. That common goal is usual the vision of a leader. Just because you are at a leader position does not make you a leader. So you can definitely lead in civilian life. I have senior management that I am in conflict with and I occasionally run into a thin skinned THS employee... I try to remember they didn't do what I did and so it's not fair to hold them to that standard. I find it difficult at times, irritating, and at times when I know that we accomplished our tasks, pride in them.

I think I'm going to find employment elsewhere though, something not in management...
