How do you handle a 'dud'?

I'm not talking about a dead round here. I'm talking about fellow troops who don't put out. They however are doing a great job LOOKING busy. Sometimes they even brag about how good of a job they did in the previous commands looking busy. They're also great 'social butterflies' and everyone seems to 'love' them, especially from different shops.

I have one like that. Though I had a word with him, I'm not over him and cannot discipline him like he should be. I have mentioned him to my LPO (NCOIC) who has done practically nothing either, and I'm really getting fed up with it. I don't want to stir things up quite yet and trying my best to keep it diplomatic. Help me out here, someone!

PO1 Private RallyPoint Member...I skipped over this post the first time. And then my curiosity got the best of me. "So, really, how DO you handle a dud? What if it...just doesn't go OFF? Call EOD?!" I was feeling the panic as I couldn't remember what to do. And then...I realized what you were asking. And realized that learning to disable a non-functional IED is still a simpler than the answer to your question. Thanks, though.
