SSgt (Join to see) it sounds more realistic then reunification. I see on YouTube many comment supporting reunification but the big kicker is they are all foreigners when you see comment from those from South korea very little support for the idea of reunification

Yeah, I'm sure it would take a looong time before reunification would happen. I don't think Kim Jong-in would want to give up his position or title anytime soon.

SSgt (Join to see) the economic differences for one thing wpuld be a huge strain on the South Korean Economy which more or less just came out of a recession. I think one study put South Korea's GDP per capita at $30,000 North Korea is less then$1,000

SSgt (Join to see) 70 years of political differences coupled with the fact the Kim regime still wants to be in power and they are in power based on a lie which is that South Korea is an impoverished nation and slave to the United States and the rest of the world is a baron wasteland that's the propaganda his family has fed his people.

While I was stationed in South Korea, it was always very tense. They wanted North Korea to become peaceful again, obviously. Especially the older generation. A lot of South Korean's have family up in the north. I can't imagine the sighs of relief that's going on right now, but we still have a ways to go before true celebration starts.

SSgt (Join to see) unfortunately while everyone wants peace especially South Korea reunification is very differently story only a very small minority wants to see reunification the rest especially the younger generation don't want to unify.

How do you guys feel about the idea of a United Korea as two separate states and not enemies sharing the same land?

Sure. Why not. After all, it's their country and their decision on what kind of relationship to have.

Interesting question when we have folks here that are in an unending resist movement and want California to leave our country.
