How do you guys feel about Bernie Sanders? I see him as a kind of 'lesser of evils.'

Now granted, this is from HuffPo, but the thought should be provoking because the base claims check out. On issue after issue, most of Bernie Sanders' positions are in line with a majority of America's opinions, as long as you evaluate the positions individually and don't simply base your opinion of candidates off party ideological lines.

That's not to say that something popular with a majority is automatically right, or the best position of the available options, but fundamentally his positions are technically mainstream even if you won't see them portrayed as such in any major media.

SPC Pearce. Yes I fully agree "Lessor of Evils", I also would like to add That I recall Bernie Sanders supporting Veterans Bills, he may not have voted for all of them, but at least he was verbally supportive of most of them.. Of course Politicians say anything for votes..

I definitely would not mind having Sanders in office over Hillary, as he's running as a Democrat (not that I would vote for Hillary because I won't).

I actually agree with him on SOME of his issues, but a few things about him bother me.

1) His flip flopping views on gun control
2) He supports universal health care
3) He appears to be for regulating the media (correct me if I'm wrong please)
4) He is a self-described "Democratic Socialist." To me personally, the term "Socialist" is a little too close to "Communist."

Where I agree with him:
1) To heck with Israel - let them take care of themselves. I can never forgive Israel for its blatant attack of the USS Liberty
2) Repeal the Patriot Act
3) Increase VA Disability Compensation
4) Is against increased immigration, in particular H-1B visas
5) Criminal justice reform (though his views on ending the war on drugs/legalizing marijuana for recreational use is very vague)

All told, I will support a Sanders Presidency but I will not vote for him if he gets the Democrat nomination. There are too many things about him that make me feel uneasy. I will most likely vote for Rand Paul (if he gets nominated).
