I am beyond depressed that Service Members would read this kind of spew and not bother to look for official sources and information that would irrefutably invalidate these claims.

Folks, people who run these conspiracy theory websites, no matter the political slant, make their money off eyeballs. The more hits they have, the more ads on their sites are worth to them. They know that the more outlandish the claim, the more clicks.

When you spread this stuff, you feed it and encourage it.

I agree with the Report just as written and stated. The Terrorist won big time, I was in Counter-Terrorism before anyone heard about it. We in the US never really had any Idea. I did, I got to see first hand the work of the Bader-Meinhoff Group, IRA, Early Islamist Terrorist. We got to see what the rest of the world has dealt with for a while. Tore my Heart and Soul to see my Area of the Pentagon Destroyed before my eyes. I had to bust my rump to restore communications to the NE USA for Sprint because the Hub for all the Fiber Optic Network was at Ground Zero. If the mind can conceive it. There is some nut job willing to do it.

I don't know what to say to SPC Gallardo's comments. Totally ridiculous and, like MSgt stated above, destroys any credibility he may have. I definitely have questions on what happened but a lot of stuff is simple common sense. Even some of the slightly more complex is explained via science. One of the most funny and stupid (sorry) ones I heard was from Rosie O'Donnell: "It is the first time in history that fire has ever melted steel. I do believe that it defies physics for the World Trade Center Tower Seven, building seven, which collapsed in on itself- it is impossible for a building to fall the way it fell without explosives being involved…World Trade Center One and Two got hit by planes. Seven, miraculously, the first time in history, steel was melted by fire. It is physically impossible.”

I'm sorry to use this type of verbage but how stupid is that. How in the world does she think steel is made? A microwave? Blowing on it? Rubbing two sticks together? SMH!!! Fire, aka heat, is how steel is melted.

First, IF it was an inside job, we would have to had to keep our mouths shut and we all know that would never happen.
What part of the 'inside job' would you like to pretend happened? That building 1 and 2 were attacked and an inside job brought down building 7? ANYONE who thinks it could have been an inside job just needs to look at the actual data the nut jobs try to twist and you quickly realize we were attacked.

Ignorance caused 9/11. All the sighs were there, all the people were in place, no one took appropriate action, T.S.A fell asleep, F.B.I snoozing, C.I.A. drunk, politicians partying. I was in New York City that morning and nothing was right on that horrible day. Nobody has ever asked where we're the thousands of yellow cabs that morning. Missing in action. I find it odd that we are constantly bombarded with complaints about how incompetent and disorganized our goverment officials are, our government never works together, can't accomplish anything, etc and so on..

BUT!!!

These same people will turn around and say that our government masterminded and orchestrated one of the most convoluted, logistically difficult and successful inside jobs in history, making countless moving pieces work together in perfect synchronicity, and fooling an entire world in an age full of surveillance and instant communication...

There's kind of a lapse in logic there...

I choose not to even interject my own personal feelings on the topic. I will instead address the article. When writing a college paper a very popular way to assess a resource during the research stage is by way of the C.R.A.P assessment. Lets apply this approach to your article shall we?
(C)urrency: The article was posted June 1, 2014- passed
(R)eliability: Being as the only thing they cited as a resource was their own video one has no choice but to assume the statements are opinion rather than fact based. Simply stating that "Several documented cases have been exposed" does not mean anything to anyone. You must cite these individual cases of which you speak- Epic fail
(A)uthority: Well there is no author notated for this article so there is no way to validate his or her reliability. If you go to the home page the article is found under news along with "Why Does Bacon Taste So Good" and "Refreshing rationality: Why NOT Believing in Conspiracies is a Sure Sign of Mental Retardation". I would not use this as a source if I were looking to actually pass a class.
(P)urpose/Point of View- We already discussed the opinion based and very slanted unbalanced nature of the article. We also talked about the fact that there is no author. The last question asked is, Is it biased? I would have to go with a resounding yes, and therefore another failure.

This is the furthest thing from a reliable source. If you want to be taken seriously in this forum post stuff that is worthy of a legitimate discussion. Also, this is intended to be a military forum. With that in mind, proper respect shown to people is highly encouraged. Again, keep the audience in mind if you would like to be taken seriously.

I have yet to hear a "truther" opinion about the methods they claim to be utilized to bring down the towers that is actually based in reality. They love to claim nanothermite or other aspects which just are not possible from a hard-science and engineering POV. Often they will try to utilize junk science to disprove what happened.

My favorite is an Engineer professor who utilizes an open air burn of gasoline to prove that fuel does not burn hot enough to melt steel. He completely ignored: the fact that jets do not run on gasoline, compression of gasses in a heated state, fluid dynamics (air flow), and the fact that steel does not have the melt in order to change its load bearing capabilities.

SPC Gallardo: you are a Jersey City PD Officer...you should have just as many people around you as I do that were there on that day who can verify what happened. I know people personally who were there on that day, and I know many who responded afterwards. All them confirm exactly what was reported.

What you need to have a "real" life conspiracy (and why no conspiracy theory ever presented is or ever has been true).

1) Foremost, you need employees, who will be aware of the conspiracy.
2) No matter what, someone is going to know, and if the conspiracy involves a crime, those people MUST be willing to IGNORE the crime.
3) The larger the conspiracy, the more people there will be that will know about it.
4) The more violent or the more criminal the conspiracy, the LESS likely that people who are directly involved will all keep their mouths shut without a MAJOR incentive, such as death, tons of money, and/or threats to employee families
5) #4 above quickly becomes unsustainable, because as more people get involved in bribing, threatening, or killing those who are talking, they automatically fall into bullet points 1, 2, and 3 - which NOW MEANS that #4 becomes even bigger EXPONENTIALLY!
6) You will need equipment that you are willing to use - expenditures for equipment can be traced unless you cover it all up, which leads to MORE people that know somethings up, and so 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 ALL come into play in even LARGER circles.
7) You need a way to lie your way out of, or explain away, the truth of the conspiracy, including equipment - leading to even MORE people (1-5) and MORE equipment (6).
8) Eventually, the conspiracy becomes completely unsustainable, people start talking (especially if there is a reward for information on the conspiracy) and the people who perpetuated the conspiracy in the first place go to jail.

The key point to sustain the conspiracy, is that HUNDREDS, if not THOUSANDS of people would have known about the 9/11 attack being an inside job, and I guarantee you, no matter how dire the threats, or how much hush money was spent, someone would not have liked the idea of destroying hundreds of millions of dollars of property and equipment, OR WORSE, killing almost 4,000 people!

So, conspiracy theories: Total crap. Never happened. Never will. Even small conspiracies eventually get found out if they are real and only one or two people are involved (for example: Bernie Madoff - he might have gotten away with ripping off one investor, and if he was the only one who was involved, but hundreds of investors were ripped off, and way more people knew what he was doing than just him!)

One other thing: The fewer people involved (and/or hurt/killed) in a conspiracy, the more likely it is to be successfully pulled off. So, you are most likely to have a successful conspiracy if your steal something from one person only once in your entire life. However, if you rob banks regularly, eventually, you'll get caught.

I would keep being skeptical. I do not easily trust the information only because of it is "official". There are certainly some doubt points in this tragedy. Government is able and had lied to the public before. But I would not conclude that it is conspiracy without evidence and proof. It is possible. That's all I can conclude.

If 9/11 was an inside job it would not be some random Joe on the internet to figure it out. Think of this. what in the world dose Putin have to do with 9/11? Why wait this long to show it? Put bluntly Putin is on this site cause he is "news" right now and just these guys slapped his name in to one of their theories, if tomorrow we go to war\brace for it with Elvis this site will say Elvis plans to release the information.

Again, think about it, how odd is it that Putin, a guy 13 years after the event just happens to now bring it up? and ONLY after the media has a fire storm with him? It's clear it's some guy following the news, and added the best name he could find.

I think the government knew that an attack was being planned I do not believe they knew the exact target or when it would happen. The thing people need to realize is the intelligence agencies receive thousands of pieces of information on numerous things all the time most is false and they need to verify information prior to passing the information up. were mistakes made processing the information we gathered 9/11 maybe but I can not and will not believe that our government would let an attack of this size or even commit an attack of this size on our soil and for those who believe this was an inside job just remember that it happened less then 9 months into Bush's presidency which would mean that clinton would of had to been the one to have started the process of planning the attacks on 9/11 and then bush would of had to finish the planning not to mention the amount of people that would also of had knowledge of the attack and would have been ok with the plan to kill thousands of americans on our soil.

What I don't know may be best left unknown because if it was an inside job then the people who could pull it off are not known to us and obviously above the law. I would not advertise if I did know something and had proof or wind up missing. One thing 9/11 did create was greater autonomy for our government to watch us and that went largely unopposed because of the our insecurities regarding the broken aura of invincibility we had prior. Statement s like "Oh that would never happen here" and "America has never been attacked on the home front" are things of the past. Future need for this type of oversight will most likely not be for terrorist threats but a greater concern of over population of the planet and the lack of resources coupled with catastrophic global climate changes leading to possible anarchy which would facilitate the need for a security apparatus capable of handling these concerns. So what happened may not be oversight and instead foresight but to say it was an inside job is a stretch though watching the news live and seeing other demolitions I can agree it was a controlled detonation but my thoughts were to safely bring the buildings down or risk them teetering over and causing more damage.
