I love Sigs. I can't wait until they start fielding them! Times like this is when it sucks to be in the National Guard because we probably won't see these until 2080 or so...

I'm in favor of this, it sounds like the Army wanted to switch to a round with more of an impact which for the P320 could be the 357Sig or the 40GSW. My dad owns a P320 in 357Sig which is fun to shoot but the rounds are expensive and difficult to find at times, maybe if the army switches calibers it will increase how available that caliber is.

I think that this is a good weapon however I still don't think we should spend money on a new pistol right now.

SSG(P) Private RallyPoint Member - I'm excited about it! I came in during the transition phase from the M1911 to the M9 and was trained on both. Prefered the M9 - seemed easier for me to fire accurately and I liked the larger magazine capacity. That being said, Sig Sauer makes great products. I just wonder how long it will take to get fielded...

I wonder if they will try to use 357 sig as the standard ammo or stick with .40 since other government branches also use .40. But overall I am pleased with the decision, if only they would accept another manufacturer's M4 style rifle in place of the colt.

I do wish they would have gone with a G17 (yes I know no external safety but I have never had any sort of reliability issue with mine) or the HK45 (polygonal barrel is superb, better recoil balancing for follow up shots)

I am no longer in but before going to get my concealed handgun license I wanted a new pistol, the SIG320C is what I chose, this is by far my favorite handgun.

I don't have any first hand experience with a Sig Sauer product; never had the opportunity mostly. Of the people I know who personally own a Sig product, to a person they all universally have great things to say about the weapon.

I'm just not a big fan of the 9mm round no matter what weapon it's fired from. I prefer something with a little more "umph" behind it such as the .40 or .45cal round. Kind of ironic considering my daily carry piece is a PK380.

I didn't know a whole lot about this pistol, so I did some research. It seems that the caliber can be changed simply by changing the upper portion. From here and other websites, the Sig P320 seems to be very popular. So I did some pricing at local gun stores near me. These are retailing for $516 for the regular black finish, and $587 for the FDE finish or OD Green handgrip and lower assembly. I own a Springfield XD40 now, but I might see about buying one of these P320s. The accessory market should be exploding very shortly, as it is very easy to find Beretta 92F accessories everywhere, but XD40 accessories are a bit more difficult to find.

The 1911 served this nation for over 70yrs, and the Army is replacing the M-9 after what about 25yrs. Maybe we should go back to the 1911, if it's not broke don't fix it.

I bought a P320 about a year ago before the hoopla. It's a good and accurate piece. The Army chose wisely.

I have a P229 in .40 S&W and a P250c in 9 mm, I love them both. I have been a big fan of Sig for many years. I have been looking to purchase a P320 soon, still trying to decide on 9 mm or the .40 S&W.

I think that the Sig Sauer is hands down a much better handgun than the Beretta M9 will ever be, no matter how long the civilian 92F is produced.

I think it's awesome. I've owned several Sigs over the years and they are outstanding! I'm sure this one will be tricked out to perfection. Of course, I want one! Much better choice than the Baretta. The Sig P229 would have been a great choice 20 years ago.

I don't know enough about the Sig Sauer P320. If this is a .40 or .45, then I would probably approve it. If it's a 9 mm or .38, I'd probably be unhappy. Any pistol with a caliber that doesn't begin with the number "4" or greater is under-powered.
I know the SEAL's use a Sig, but it's surely a higher caliber than a .38 or 9 mm (which is a short .380).
I love .45 Long Colt and .45 ACP. Whenever I've used that round, anything struck with .45 caliber stays down on the ground and dies.

I like the P320 as a whole. Since it is a multi platform. The 9mm is not what I would like, but the prevalence of the round makes the basic choice understandable. T have a Sig 40 cal and I like it better. The P320 is a well made handgun by a reputable company.
