How do you feel about RallyPoint now?

Not to long ago, RallyPoint worked pretty flawlessly, but they chose to "update" which led to the purging of large amounts of data and members. Since that update, my profile has yet to be fully restored, the website and mobile application frequently crash and have many bugs, and many people who were once very active on RallyPoint, are no longer, for example, SFC James JP4 Palmer. Additionally, even though I have been a RallyPoint member for almost a decade, if not longer, I recently had to reverify my service multiple times, despite being a verified member already, with RallyPoint stating "sending pictures of your military identification is okay (it's not), and despite reverifying, my profile still shows as unverified. Does anyone else long for the RallyPoint of years prior with great conversations, and little to no technological issues? PFC Private RallyPoint Member SFC Joe S. Brother Cody, feel the RP Family I used to have has really shrunken since the "purge" a lot of great people have left due to differences of opinions and some stupidity on RP's admin as well IMHO.

It is more buggy than before and you can't make Corrections on your comments if it's to someone. So using voice text and it looks foolish if I don't check it and hit send and I want to fix it later but I can't. It wants me to verify who I am if I'm using somebody else's Wi-Fi. I've seen it down for a few hours at a time. I am happy to see the stories I posted 40 or 5 years ago still come up and people still comment though, yes, many of the people who originally commented either have passed away or have left the rallypoint universe.

Yes, I feel that the site not the best as before, and things have bugs, also seems lagging more and more.

As a software architect/developer I've been nothing but disappointed in RP. The update was not tested, nor did they push with an A/B setting. I doubt anywhere near enough tests had been run or most of the problems would have been found BEFORE the update.

Tags: I have NEVER seen a tag get accepted. The tags lock out so many people from ever knowing a conversation was started. Sad really.

Speaking of conversations, they really do not happen here. Sometimes we have yelling at each other for a few days on a message or two. Otherwise it is a few likes, a few banal comments, rake in your points, rinse, repeat.

RP just ain't what it used to be. Part of why I rarely hang around anymore...

Haven’t been on RP as long as you; however, have noticed a number of changes, some good and others less so. It is what it is and as Alice once said...

Anyways, open-source information, with the caveat some may be true, false and of course pending an update may at least partially explain some of what has and hasn’t been happening. According to pitchbook.com, RP is *still* in startup mode albeit 10 years and counting and has bounce rate of over 70% (according to similarweb.com). "Almost/about" 2 million members for how long now? And how many are *actually* active. Have seen the names of countless members, to include plenty of high-ranking A-listers that ostensibly follow various groups who haven't posted, commented, responded or hit the thumbs up key in years. Anecdotal for sure; however, seems like considerably more than a few of the membership may have left and or = inactive.

Growth = revenue = ability to implement/troubleshoot/resolve system enhancements and by extension, increase support to end-users. Perhaps even curiouser and curiouser = RP's *proprietary 'affinity' algorithm.* After over a day this thread has about 360 page views, whereas a post a few days earlier in a relatively obscure RP group (72D Environmental Science and Engineering) garnered over 2K views within 24 hours. Again anecdotal, have seen many an *interesting, informative and positive* post (with multiple and appropriate group tags) receive virtually no views. When content that would appeal to/interest/engage the majority doesn't get visibility members lose interest, go inactive or simply leave. And of course the comments already posted here by others adds to the mix. Still, the pros outweigh the cons for a free site. Perhaps the biggest disappointment = RP hasn't hit IPO paydirt yet or been acquired. One thing = for sure, the VC have been more than patient awaiting their jackpot.
