Back in the 'day' making coffee was a regular litany followed by everyone to take our minds off the insanity. Contrary to best military tactics, whenever there was a pause in activities of almost any nature, troops would immediately break out their heat tabs and start brewing coffee. Hence I picked up the habit of doctoring it up to soften the taste of the WWII style powered coffee. Otherwise loved that mess-hall coffee which we used to fill our30 cup urns or we made ourselves from the coffee mentioned by SCPO Private RallyPoint Member .
