How do you disable certain type of notifications? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-do-you-disable-certain-type-of-notifications

I'm aware this is probably a stupid question and that I'm probably blind. That said, I can't for the life of me figure out how to disable notifications like "PVT Joe Snuffy started a discussion in ________." On the desktop they are merely annoying, but these type of notifications are what have pushed me over the edge to delete the mobile app as I'm sick and tired of having my phone blow up all day with this nonsense. Surely there's a way to make it so that you only receive notifications for stuff directly pertaining to you such as when you receive a response or get up voted.

For the record, I have looked in settings, but even with everything unselected or set to "never" I still receive these damned notifications.

Edit: I think I've figured it out. The reason I couldn't find anything to disable in the settings is because there is nothing in the settings to disable. To fix the issue you have to go to each individual page (which I figured out is all stuff that you have linked to in your profile like deployments, MOS, schools, etc) and click the "following" box. Looks like following is the default and clicking the box sets it so that you're not following it anymore. If any admin would like to delete or hide this topic please do as the issue seems to be resolved. That will unfollow the group for you, and you will not receive any more notifications for that group.

Although the question was resolve, we can leave the question up for future folks who may be searching for it.
