Since not all suffering is undeserved or unmerited, much of the suffering we experience as military personnel and veterans does not bring glory to God directly. Suffering that brings glory to God would include persecution for expressed or tacit belief, fasting from what we desire, placing our desires subordinate to spreading or sustaining the gospel message. We bring glory to God by sharing our faith and always being ready to give an answer for the hope that lies within us with gentleness and respect. How do we as believers bring Glory to our Lord and Savior while serving in the military and afterwards as veterans?2015-03-23T11:13:13-04:00LTC Stephen F.546480

One way we bring glory to God is suffering for Christ. But I love those moments when someone asks me why I do or say something a certain way because I can always give God that glory and I love the looks I get. All I can do is pray that the love of my Savior can be seen through my actions and that he can use me in his way.Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 23 at 2015 11:50 PM2015-03-23T23:50:07-04:002015-03-23T23:50:07-04:00PFC Nathaniel Thedford548014

I just try to help others when I can and to be more mindful of others as well. These days it seems too taboo to talk about Christ so when mentioning his name freely, I guess I can be honest and say that I have to work on that. I suffer in so many other ways that just learning how to give that load up and put it on Christ is hard at times. I silently pray for others if nothing else and that prayer is usually a prayer of good fortune and health and also a yearning for them to be close to God and know their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.Response by PFC Nathaniel Thedford made Mar 24 at 2015 12:58 AM2015-03-24T00:58:08-04:002015-03-24T00:58:08-04:00CMSgt Mark Schubert548545

Sir,

I believe that the world has been suffering since sin entered with Adam & Eve - and it's been in decay since. We suffer because of many things, righteous and unrighteous. We give glory to God by recognizing Him and His works in ALL things!

I am blessed to know Him and I, like you, have no problem to discuss with anyone who will listen. God blessed me and I'm more than happy to share how he has worked in my life and will work in yours if you open the door.

God bless you LTC Stephen F. and may He continue to strengthen you to encourage others! :-)Response by CMSgt Mark Schubert made Mar 24 at 2015 10:55 AM2015-03-24T10:55:16-04:002015-03-24T10:55:16-04:00Cpl David Schaffer549364

LTC Stephen F., when I was in the Marine Corps I served as a Protestant Layman, and was responsible for worship in the absence of a Chaplain. While in Iraq on my first tour I was given this opportunity for 1 month while we had no Chaplain. Outside of this my fellow Marines knew my stance as I did not attempt to hide it. Do not fear letting your higher ups or anybody know where you stand!

Now that I am out of the Corps, my wife and I started a ministry to preach the Gospel of Christ Jesus outside of our local Abortion Centers. We started doing this ministry with our kids in October 2012, 7 years after I got out. With this I challenge all of you to join some form of ministry of to learn how to Evangelize.
