How do those who ETS'd at the end of 2012 feel about the new "Forever G.I. Bill" stipulated ETS date?

My ETS date was December 29, 2012 and these benefits only affect those who exit service from Jan. 1, 2013. I understand their has to be a beginning, but how does this affect others with similar situations?

My AD ETS date was 3 days prior to yours, so I did answer your poll question from that perspective; however, it isn't a negative factor for me as I am currently using my benefits now. For those of us in the 15 year window and not eligible for the new eligibility, time is not up--unless you are almost through the window--so its alright.

If it helps at all, you still got the benefits your were promised when you signed up, possibly more as the bennies were being adjusted almost every year. See Matthew 20:1-16

The other option would be to re-up and reset your entitlement to the life-time benefit.

I was actually surprised this was backdated at all, most changes start the date of enactment with no retroactive application.
