How do military medical professionals determine if slight scoliosis or back pain was preexisting prior to military service?

Scoliosis is congenital, you're born with it.
Are you saying that you want to be medically chaptered and not MEB? Do you understand what that actually means?

No I'm saying I'm not trying to get medically chaptered, if it was a MEB then I wouldn't mind but I have never had any problems with my back until last year and more during deployment.

EPTS (Existing prior to service) normally falls within the first 180 days of enlistment. Not sure if it applies to uniformed personnel past that date. You should probably ask JAG or medical doctor for more information.

I’ll add. Military service no matter how grueling does not cause scoliosis so that part is easy to rule-out as being Pre-existing. If you have no records or evidence of prior back pain prior to enlisting (and be prepared to give permission to the government to access your records if you’re trying to claim a LOD) and you’ve been seeking care only since enlisting, then you can have a case.
Make sure you document everything well and be meticulous with your timelines and records. Good luck.
