They will announce when the Boards are held/going to be held. They will also give notice in those Board Announcements what the criteria is going to be IOT be looked at on those Boards. As part of the STEP program, you can be looked at prior to completing SLC. Also, prior to you being looked at, there will be a RED Report distro'd out from your BN S1 that shows who has issues to be fixed before they can be looked at. You have a little time to go before you get looked at. I was a SSG for for exactly 3 years when I got looked at. The Board convened the day AFTER I hit my 3 year mark. As for the OML, you can easily get with your Company S1 (or perhaps BN S1) for that assistance.Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 15 at 2020 11:49 AM2020-10-15T11:49:19-04:002020-10-15T11:49:19-04:00CPT Private RallyPoint Member6404785

Knock out SLC and DA photos are a thing of the past for promotions.Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 15 at 2020 11:50 AM2020-10-15T11:50:48-04:002020-10-15T11:50:48-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member6404786

There is no OML for SSG as of yet it will not exist until after the board, you have to have 36 months to be eligible as of right now, DA photos no longer go to the board and SLC has no bearing on your eligibility for the board. The OML number is located in your ACT. There's a tab that says "OML number." You will receive the number after the board has convened. You become eligible at 18 months TIG, but you cannot pin E7 until 36 months TIG. You will get looked at, and you will receive a OML number for as long as you are fully qualified. If you are not fully qualified you will have no number in the OML, at which point, you either fix yourself or you will receive a separation date to leave the service. I must add, as a SSG with over two years TIG, you should be more familiar with the promotion process, this lack of knowledge reflects poorly on you .Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 15 at 2020 12:01 PM2020-10-15T12:01:18-04:002020-10-15T12:01:18-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member6404853

You Really need to sit down with a mentor and go over this and your board packet. I think it's safe to assume you don't have one, so I'll give you an overview of the process and where to find what you need.

The promotion board for Senior NCOs meets once a year for each rank. Right now, HRC is getting ready for the SFC Evaluation board which will evaluate E7's for promotion to E8.

You can find out when the SSG Evaluation board will meet by going to the Enlisted Promotions page on HRC to see the Board schedule, or on the Promotion Branch page on HRC. A few months prior to the evaluation board a MILPER message will be announced stating who will and will not be eligible to be evaluated. If the message for your board has been released it will be attached to the board schedule.

The MILPER will give you a time line of events. There is a board file you can log into that will have your ERB somewhat redacted, all your awards, evuations, and any derogatory information such as GOMORs as well. You have a certain amount of time before your board file closes before you can fix your ERB, and ensure all your records are in your file.

The board members will evaluate your record on several metrics and give you a score. Each member will vote on your record. There is an instructional video on the promotion page thst explains the process if you're interested, it's worth learning about.

You and your peers will be ranked against each other in an OML. You don't have an OML number because you haven't been boarded. Sequence numbers are no lo ger used. You will reboard every year and receive a new OML ranking every year. Your OML standing determines who gets first seats at SLC. The OML works exactly the same as promotion points for E5. Each month HRC decides how many people to pickup and they announce it on the 25th of the month. On the first they pin if they have the associated NCOES complete.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 15 at 2020 12:09 PM2020-10-15T12:09:42-04:002020-10-15T12:09:42-04:00WO1 Private RallyPoint Member6405337

Possibly.....Milper 20-339Response by WO1 Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 15 at 2020 2:51 PM2020-10-15T14:51:20-04:002020-10-15T14:51:20-04:00MSG Private RallyPoint Member6405507

Milper Message for SSG Evaluation board came out this week, look it up.Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 15 at 2020 3:51 PM2020-10-15T15:51:12-04:002020-10-15T15:51:12-04:00SFC Arthur Morgan6405671

While don't have reply your query regarding OML, Yes SLC (in my day ANCOC) prerequisite. I will do my best to answer your questions:

1. The OML can be found on the HRC website under MILPER tab. You are looking for MILPER Number: 20-339. "Individuals will learn their OML standing through the Army Career Tracker." If you are ineligible for promotion to SSG then you will not have an OML.

2. Unfortunately for SSGs in our situation we will not be looked at just yet according to the MILPER. "The board will consider and evaluate the AMHRR of all RA and USAR AGR Soldiers meeting the following criteria: RA/AGR (less RA SSG in CMFs 18, 37, and 38) DOR 3 February 2018 and earlier." So, basically by the time the board convenes the new evaluation system SSGs need to have been in for at least 36 months TIG before consideration.

3. "Per MILPER Message 209 (Issued 8 July 2020): Elimination of Department of the Army (DA) Photos, and Race, Ethnicity and Gender Identification Data for Officer, Warrant Officer, and Enlisted Department of the Army Centralized Selection Boards, effective 1 Aug 20, the requirement for officer, warrant officer and enlisted selection boards to include the DA Photo as part of the board file is suspended." So, a DA Photo is no longer needed for selection boards.Response by SFC(P) Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 18 at 2020 8:27 AM2020-10-18T08:27:47-04:002020-10-18T08:27:47-04:002020-10-15T11:30:02-04:00
